Valvoline™ Global Operations Champions High School Student Driver Education as Official Corporate Sponsor of Road Safety Education Limited
Valvoline Global today announced a two-year corporate sponsorship of Road Safety Education (RSE) Limited providing driver education programming support to more than 60,000 senior high school students across Australia and New Zealand.
Through this initiative, Valvoline Global will serve as an Official Corporate Supporter of RSE, a charity committed to saving lives by providing world class road safety education to young drivers. Valvoline Global’s support will be integral in giving students access to “RYDA” – a hands-on learning experience facilitated through in-person workshops.
Now in its 24th year, the RYDA program engages senior high school students in developing skills essential to becoming responsible road citizens by helping them build safe driving habits that will serve them throughout their lives.
“At Valvoline Global, our purpose is to inspire and enable what – and who – move the world forward,” said Michelle Brewin, Valvoline Global Managing Director Australia/Pacific. “That means teaming up with organisations like RSE to drive the importance of safety on our roads by educating young drivers on the importance of always staying vigilant. We are proud to join RSE in this effort to support youth road safety and promoting responsible driving for all in Australia and New Zealand.”
Road Safety Education Limited’s (RSE) CEO and Managing Director, Terry Birss, expressed the organisation’s excitement about Valvoline Global’s support for RSE’s RYDA program, stating, “The RYDA program’s interactive, multi-touchpoint approach empowers teenagers to make informed, responsible choices as both drivers and passengers. Road safety is a shared responsibility, and this sponsorship highlights the important role that organisations like Valvoline Global play in achieving this vision. Valvoline Global’s commitment aligns with our mission to create safer communities, free from road-related deaths and injuries. With their support, we can provide road safety education to more students in more communities.”
The RYDA program is evidence-based and is designed and delivered under the guidance of an International Advisory Council of road safety psychologists. Importantly, the program is also informed by robust evaluation, which includes feedback from students. Valvoline Global will help RSE gather student feedback by providing prize incentives to students for reporting on their RYDA experience. This feedback ensures students’ voices are heard and their feedback is considered as the program is reviewed and updated.
