Interested in becoming a RYDA facilitator?

RYDA is all about making a connection with students; personalising conversations to draw from student experience and working together to devise practical and usable strategies to mitigate risk.  We look for facilitators who have that special knack for facilitating group conversations and making sure every voice is heard.  RYDA follows carefully constructed course content, scripted in our Facilitator Training Manual.  Therefore, facilitators should be comfortable in delivering to key messages and touchpoints and armed with the skills needed to adjust course and respond appropriately to student input.

We believe there is no better investment in our RYDA workshops than the people who deliver it.

Topic knowledge is certainly a bonus but finding people skilled in the art of facilitation is our first priority.  Content can be learnt; facilitation skills are harder to come by.

Day Managers and Facilitators needed

The number of RYDA workshops being delivered is growing across Australia and New Zealand, and we need more people than ever before to help not only facilitate workshop sessions but help ensure the day runs smoothly as Day Managers. Our Day Managers set up the rooms, handle the IT/AV, make sure the day runs to time, and act as the key contact point on the days between schools, facilitators, volunteers and RSE. If you naturally seek out solutions to challenges, can think on your feet, and want to play an active part in making our roads safer, we’d love to hear from you.

What makes a good RYDA Facilitator?

  • Ability to work the room and get engagement from everyone.
  • Ability to follow scripted talking points while responding fluidly to student questions and answers.
  • Ability to understanding of how teenage minds work and how teenagers learn.
  • Interest in best practice in road safety education, including the latest thinking and research in what works (and what doesn’t).
  • Desire to help make roads safer, not only for youth drivers and their passengers, but for all road users.

Where do RYDA workshops happen?

RYDA workshops are held in all capital cities as well as major cities throughout Australia. Within major cities we have a number of different venues as well as run within schools. For a full list of venues see our map of upcoming workshops.
